HISTORIC BUILDING CONVERSIONS

Listed building and conservation works includes the development of a 500 acre farm to a new estate in the Cotswolds (below).

Mistral have designed and are currently project managing the conversion of Grade 2* listed Medieval Barns and a newbuild dwelling near Coleford in the Forest of Dean.

The properties are designed as "live-work" units which was a requirement of planning to produce a more sustainable development in the countryside.

The conversion of the listed barns has involved specialist conservation input to restore the collapsed shell and structure in close collaboration with English Heritage extending of the existing farmhouse, and extensive refurbishment of the historic farm buildings, lanscaping and estate roads.

We were appointed by St Michael's Theological College in Cardiff to provide a masterplan for developing their facilities within the listed buildings to meet the needs of the future of the College. This included designing a new teaching wing and upgrading of the fabric including adaptations to meet the requirements of the disability discimination act.
